॥ श्री महिषासुरमर्दिनि स्तोत्रम् ॥

||  ஶ்ரீ மஹிஷாஸுரமர்தி³னி ஸ்தோத்ரம் || 

॥ ŚRĪ MAHIṢĀSURAMARDINI STOTRAM ॥

कटितट-पीत-दुकूल-विचित्र-मयूख-तिरस्कृत-चन्द्ररुचे
प्रणत-सुरासुर-मौलिमणिस्फुर-दंशुल-सन्नख-चन्द्ररुचे।
जित-कनकाचल-मौलिपदोर्जित-निर्भर-कुञ्जर-कुम्भकुचे
जय जय हे महिषासुरमर्दिनि रम्यकपर्दिनि शैलसुते॥१५॥

கடிதட-பீத-து³கூல-விசித்ர-மயூக²-திரஸ்க்ருʼத-சந்த்³ரருசே
ப்ரணத-ஸுராஸுர-மௌலிமணிஸ்பு²ர-த³ம்ʼஶுல-ஸன்னக²-சந்த்³ரருசே| 
ஜித-கனகாசல-மௌலிபதோ³ர்ஜித-நிர்ப⁴ர-குஞ்ஜர-கும்ப⁴குசே
ஜய ஜய ஹே மஹிஷாஸுரமர்தி³னி ரம்யகபர்தி³னி ஶைலஸுதே|| 15|| 

kaṭitaṭa-pīta-dukūla-vicitra-mayūkha-tiraskṛta-candraruce
praṇata-surāsura-maulimaṇisphura-daṃśula-sannakha-candraruce।
jita-kanakācala-maulipadorjita-nirbhara-kuñjara-kumbhakuce
jaya jaya he mahiṣāsuramardini ramyakapardini śailasute॥15॥

பொருள் :

நிலவின் தண்ணொளியைக்கூட தோற்கச் செய்கின்ற அழகிய கிரணங்கள் பிரகாசிக்கின்ற பட்டாடையை இடுப்பில் அணிந்தவளே !  உன் திருவடிகளைப் பணிகின்ற தேவர் மற்றும் அசுரர்களின் கிரீடங்களில் பதிக்கப்பட்ட மாணிக்கக் கற்களைப் பிரதிபலிக்கச் செய்கின்ற, நிலவொளி போன்ற ஒளியை வீசுகின்ற நகங்களை உடையவளே !  பொன்மலையான சுமேருவை ஜெயத்த மதத்தில் உள்ள யானையின் நிமிர்ந்த தலை போன்று, நிமிர்ந்த கும்பத்தை ஒத்த ஸ்தனங்களை உடையவளே !   மஹிஷாசஸுரனை அழித்தவளே !  அழகாகப் பின்னிய கூந்தலை உடையவளே !  மலைமகளே !  உனக்கு வெற்றி உண்டாகட்டும், உனக்கே வெற்றி உண்டாகட்டும்.   15

Meaning :

(O Divine Mother, I invoke You and take refuge in Your Auspicious Feet)
15.1: (Salutations to You O Divine Mother) I Invoke You; Whose Waist is Soaked with Silk Clothes of Various Colours, the Lustre of Which Eclipses the Brightness of the Moon,
15.2: (I Invoke You) On Whose Toe-Nails Which Throb with the Radiance of Gems of Diadem and Spreads Its Brightness like Moon, Prostate the Devas and the Asuras,
15.3: Who Win over the Mighty Heads Swollen with Pride like Golden Mountain, with the Pre-eminence (of Power and Compassion) Abounding in Her Pitcher-Like Bosom,
15.4: Victory to You, Victory to You, (I take Refuge in Your Auspicious Feet) O the Destroyer of Demon Mahishasura; (Victory to You) Who Shine with Beautiful Locks of Hair and Who is the Daughter of the Mountain.   15

विजित-सहस्रकरैक-सहस्रकरैक-सहस्रकरैकनुते
कृतसुरतारक-सङ्गरतारक-सङ्गरतारक-सूनुसुते।
सुरथ-समाधि समानसमाधि समाधिसमाधि सुजातरते
जय जय हे महिषासुरमर्दिनि रम्यकपर्दिनि शैलसुते॥१६॥

விஜித-ஸஹஸ்ரகரைக-ஸஹஸ்ரகரைக-ஸஹஸ்ரகரைகனுதே
க்ருʼதஸுரதாரக-ஸங்க³ரதாரக-ஸங்க³ரதாரக-ஸூனுஸுதே| 
ஸுரத²-ஸமாதி⁴ ஸமானஸமாதி⁴ ஸமாதி⁴ஸமாதி⁴ ஸுஜாதரதே
ஜய ஜய ஹே மஹிஷாஸுரமர்தி³னி ரம்யகபர்தி³னி ஶைலஸுதே|| 16|| 

vijita-sahasrakaraika-sahasrakaraika-sahasrakaraikanute
kṛtasuratāraka-saṅgaratāraka-saṅgaratāraka-sūnusute।
suratha-samādhi samānasamādhi samādhisamādhi sujātarate
jaya jaya he mahiṣāsuramardini ramyakapardini śailasute॥16॥

பொருள் :

தன் ஆயிரம் கைகளால் வெல்லப்பட்டதான, அஸுரர்களின் ஆயிரக் கணக்கான கைகளாலும், காப்பாற்ற வேண்டி நின்ற தேவர்களின் ஆயிரக் கணக்கான கைகளால் வணங்கப்பட்டவளே !  தேவர்களுக்கு காப்பாளன் ஒருவனை ( முருகப் பெருமான் ) நியமித்து, தாரகாஸுரனுடன் யுத்தம் செய்யவைத்து, ( தேவர்களை )  துன்பங்களிலிருந்து தாண்டச் செய்தவளே !   உயர்குலத்திலுதித்த ஸுரதன் ( ஒரு அரசன் ), சமாதி ( ஒரு வணிகன் ) இருவராலும் சமானமான வகையில் தவம் செய்து உபாஸிக்கப்பட்டவளே !   மஹிஷாசஸுரனை அழித்தவளே !  அழகாகப் பின்னிய கூந்தலை உடையவளே !  மலைமகளே !  உனக்கு வெற்றி உண்டாகட்டும், உனக்கே வெற்றி உண்டாகட்டும்.   16

Meaning :

(O Divine Mother, I invoke You and take refuge in Your Auspicious Feet)
16.1: (Salutations to You O Divine Mother) I Invoke You; Who Conquer Thousands of Enemies who fight against Her with Thousands of Hands (by manifesting Her Own Thousand Hands); Who then Make Thousands of Hands (of Devotees) Praise Her,
16.2: (I Invoke You) Who Created the Rescuer of the Devas (Son Kartikeya) to Fight with Demon Tarkasura and then Urged Her Son for that Great Fight,
16.3: Who is Pleased with both: The Devotional Contemplation like King Suratha for Worldly Gains, and also the Excellent Devotional Contemplation like Merchant Samadhi for Spiritual Knowledge,
16.4: Victory to You, Victory to You, (I take Refuge in Your Auspicious Feet) O the Destroyer of Demon Mahishasura; (Victory to You) Who Shine with Beautiful Locks of Hair and Who is the Daughter of the Mountain.   16
