॥ श्री महिषासुरमर्दिनि स्तोत्रम् ॥

||  ஶ்ரீ மஹிஷாஸுரமர்தி³னி ஸ்தோத்ரம் || 

॥ ŚRĪ MAHIṢĀSURAMARDINI STOTRAM ॥

अयि जगदम्ब-मदम्ब-कदम्ब-वनप्रिय-वासिनि हासरते
शिखरि शिरोमणि तुङ्ग-हिमालय-शृङ्ग-निजालय-मध्यगते।
मधु-मधुरे मधु-कैटभ-गञ्जिनि कैटभ-भञ्जिनि रासरते
जय जय हे महिषासुरमर्दिनि रम्यकपर्दिनि शैलसुते॥३॥

அயி ஜக³த³ம்ப³-மத³ம்ப³-கத³ம்ப³-வனப்ரிய-வாஸினி ஹாஸரதே
ஶிக²ரி ஶிரோமணி துங்க³-ஹிமாலய-ஶ்ருʼங்க³-நிஜாலய-மத்⁴யக³தே| 
மது⁴-மது⁴ரே மது⁴-கைடப⁴-க³ஞ்ஜினி கைடப⁴-ப⁴ஞ்ஜினி ராஸரதே
ஜய ஜய ஹே மஹிஷாஸுரமர்தி³னி ரம்யகபர்தி³னி ஶைலஸுதே|| 3|| 

ayi jagadamba-madamba-kadamba-vanapriya-vāsini hāsarate
śikhari śiromaṇi tuṅga-himālaya-śṛṅga-nijālaya-madhyagate।
madhu-madhure madhu-kaiṭabha-gañjini kaiṭabha-bhañjini rāsarate
jaya jaya he mahiṣāsuramardini ramyakapardini śailasute॥3॥

பொருள் :

உலகின் அன்னையே, என் தாயே, கதம்ப வனத்தில் வசிப்பதை விரும்புபவளே, சிரிப்பில் மகிழ்பவளே, மலைகளில் சிறந்த இமயமலையில் உச்சியிலுள்ள சிகரத்தின் நடுவில் வீற்றிருப்பவளே, தேன்போல் இனியவளே, மது கைடப அசுரர்களின் கர்வத்தை  அழித்தவளே, கைடபனை  அழித்தவளே, கேளிக்கைகளில் மகிழ்பவளே, மஹிஷாசஸுரனை அழித்தவளே, அழகாகப் பின்னிய கூந்தலை உடையவளே, மலைமகளே, உனக்கு வெற்றி உண்டாகட்டும், உனக்கே வெற்றி உண்டாகட்டும்.   3

Meaning :

(O Divine Mother, I invoke You and take refuge in Your Auspicious Feet)
3.1: Salutations to You O Divine Mother; I Invoke You; Who is the Mother of the Universe; Who is My Own Mother; Who Like to Live in the Forest of Kadamba Trees and Delight in Laughter and Mirth,
3.2: (I Invoke You) Who Abide in the Middle of the Crest-Jewel of the Peaks of Lofty Himalayas,
3.3: Who is as Sweet as Honey; Who Subdued the Pride of the Demons Madhu and Kaitabha and Destroyed the Demons (Madhu and) Kaitabha, Indulging in the Din and Uproar of the Great Battle,
3.4: Victory to You, Victory to You, (I take Refuge in Your Auspicious Feet) O the Destroyer of Demon Mahishasura; (Victory to You) Who Shine with Beautiful Locks of Hair and Who is the Daughter of the Mountain.   3

अयि शतखण्ड-विखण्डित-रुण्ड-वितुण्डित-शुण्ड-गजाधिपते
रिपु-गज-गण्ड-विदारण-चण्ड-पराक्रम-शुण्ड-मृगाधिपते।
निज-भुज-दण्ड-निपातित-खण्ड-विपातित-मुण्ड-भटाधिपते
जय जय हे महिषासुरमर्दिनि रम्यकपर्दिनि शैलसुते॥४॥

அயி ஶதக²ண்ட³-விக²ண்டி³த-ருண்ட³-விதுண்டி³த-ஶுண்ட³-க³ஜாதி⁴பதே
ரிபு-க³ஜ-க³ண்ட³-விதா³ரண-சண்ட³-பராக்ரம-ஶுண்ட³-ம்ருʼகா³தி⁴பதே| 
நிஜ-பு⁴ஜ-த³ண்ட³-நிபாதித-க²ண்ட³-விபாதித-முண்ட³-ப⁴டாதி⁴பதே
ஜய ஜய ஹே மஹிஷாஸுரமர்தி³னி ரம்யகபர்தி³னி ஶைலஸுதே|| 4|| 

ayi śatakhaṇḍa-vikhaṇḍita-ruṇḍa-vituṇḍita-śuṇḍa-gajādhipate
ripu-gaja-gaṇḍa-vidāraṇa-caṇḍa-parākrama-śuṇḍa-mṛgādhipate।
nija-bhuja-daṇḍa-nipātita-khaṇḍa-vipātita-muṇḍa-bhaṭādhipate
jaya jaya he mahiṣāsuramardini ramyakapardini śailasute॥4॥

பொருள் :

எதிரிப்படையிலுள்ள பலம் மிகுந்த யானைகளின் தும்பிக்கைகளை துண்டு துண்டாக வெட்டி, அவைகளையும் நூறு துண்டுகளாக்குபவளே, எதிரிகளான யானைகளின் கழுத்தைத் துண்டித்து எறிவதில் திறமை மிக்க ஸிம்மத்தை வாஹனமாகக் கொண்டவளே, தண்டாயுதம் போன்ற தன் புஜங்களின் வலிமையால் எதிரிப்படையின் வீரர்களின் தலையை வெட்டியெறிந்தவளே, மஹிஷாசஸுரனை அழித்தவளே, அழகாகப் பின்னிய கூந்தலை உடையவளே, மலைமகளே, உனக்கு வெற்றி உண்டாகட்டும், உனக்கே வெற்றி உண்டாகட்டும்.   4

4.1: Salutations to You O Divine Mother; I Invoke You; Who is the Conquerer of the Enemy's Elephants; Who Cut off their Trunks and Heads, and the Headless Bodies into Hundred Pieces,
4.2: (I Invoke You) Whose Lion Fiercely Tear Asunder the Faces of the Powerful Elephants of the Enemies,
4.3: Who Felled the Heads of Demons (Chanda) and Munda with the Weapons in Her Arms and Conquered the (Enemy) Warriors,
4.4: Victory to You, Victory to You, (I take Refuge in Your Auspicious Feet) O the Destroyer of Demon Mahishasura; (Victory to You) Who Shine with Beautiful Locks of Hair and Who is the Daughter of the Mountain.   4
